Port Aggregates furnishes high quality White Limestone with a unique character, it is 10% lighter than the Grey Limestone yet has the same strength and durability. The secret lies in the microscopic porosity of the stone. The tiny holes lighten the weight yet do not effect any of its structural characteristics. An example, based on the test results published by the LA D.O.T.D in the 1992 edition of Specifications for Roads and Bridges.
According to the above-mentioned publication, it would take 1.76 tons of Port Aggregates White Limestone (Porous) to make one cubic yard and it would take 1.95 tons of Grey Limestone (Dense) to make one cubic yard at 95% compaction.

Our limestone has a broad range of uses, primarily because of our supplier's ability to produce materials to customer specifications. All crushed limestone aggregate gradations are closely sized and graded at the quarry. What this means to you, the customer, is that you have a choice in size range (gradations) as opposed to sizes found in locally recovered and depletable materials.
Our materials are used in road and highway construction as a base material, as an aggregate surface course for shoulder construction, secondary roads and oilfield roads.
Ready mix concrete producers have realized the benefits and cost saving attributes of limestone. Also our limestone is a high calcium material and can be used in acid neutralization, liquid calcuim chloride production, fluxing, and flue gas desulfurization.
Port Aggregates, Inc. owns its own delivery trucks and has the facilities to load limestone on barges and distribute it throughout Southwest Louisiana, so we can give maximum service to YOU, THE CUSTOMER !
