1. Improper concrete strength

2. Too much water in the mix

For example, a 4-inch concrete slab should have joints that are placed 8 to 12 feet apart.
4. Inadequate curing
As your concrete cures, it will need water for the chemical reaction that changes it from a gooey mixture to a strong solid. If your slab dries too quickly, then it will increase your concrete’s risk of cracking.
